Nigerian Govt to Release N11.9bn for Doctors' Arrears Amid Strikes

The Nigerian government is set to release N11.9 billion to settle arrears owed to health workers, particularly members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD). The payment aims to address salary arrears and implement an upward review of health worker salaries.

This move comes after strikes and demands by NARD for better working conditions and remuneration. The government had previously released N10 billion in August towards the same cause.
