Structural Reforms Essential for Nigeria's Future, Experts Say

During the first annual public lecture at Foursquare Gospel Church in Aba, Ibadan, prominent Nigerians including Dr. Tunde Lemo, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr.

Femi Adesina, former presidential spokesman, Funk Egbemode, a columnist, and Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, editor of Saturday Tribune, called for urgent structural reforms to address Nigeria's persistent political and economic challenges.

In his keynote address titled "Nigeria's Kinetic Long," Adesina lamented the country's squandered potential due to poor leadership and corruption. Lemo advocated for a comprehensive review of Nigeria's federal structure, stating that the current governance framework inadequately addresses contemporary realities.

Olagunju argued that Nigeria's decline is rooted in the abandonment of principles that once made the country function effectively. Egbemode pointed out that the issue is not a lack of ideas but the inability to translate visions into tangible improvements for citizens' welfare.
