Student Stabbed to Death at Niger State University Event

On April 5, 2026, an altercation at a university hall in Kontagora, Niger State, resulted in the death of 25-year-old student Seyi Simon, allegedly at the hands of 18-year-old Jafar Musa. The incident occurred around 1:00 AM during a party organized for newly admitted students.

A minor argument between Musa, a member of the Man O' War unit, and Simon escalated into a violent confrontation. Musa reportedly stabbed Simon with a dagger, leading to Simon being rushed to a general hospital in Kontagora, where he was confirmed dead.

The Niger State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident and stated that Musa had been arrested. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
