West African Insurers to Discuss Climate Change Challenges at WAICA 2025 Conference

The West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA) is set to host its 2025 education conference in Lagos, Nigeria, from October 12 to 15. The conference will focus on the impact of climate change on the insurance industry in West Africa.

Delegates from Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and other West African nations will deliberate on the role of insurers in mitigating climate-related risks and developing sustainable practices. The conference aims to address the increasing pressure on the global insurance industry to align with the Paris Agreement and integrate environmental risks into underwriting processes.

The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) will organize the event on behalf of the Nigerian insurance market.
