Sudan Strengthens Military Presence at Ethiopia Border

Sudan has reinforced its military presence along the border with Ethiopia, deploying additional units and military hardware to strategic locations. This deployment coincides with heightened security alerts and monitoring of movements along Sudan's eastern frontier.

Sudanese authorities have accused Ethiopia of supporting the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) by training its troops within Ethiopian territory. The RSF has been involved in a three-year conflict in Sudan, resulting in the deaths of approximately 10,000 people and displacing 2 million.

Sudan's Foreign Minister, Mohieddin Salem, has reiterated the country's right to respond to what he describes as Ethiopian aggression against Sudanese interests, particularly following a recent drone strike that targeted military installations in the greater Khartoum area. The situation remains tense as Sudan continues to address security concerns in the region.
