Sultan Calls for Prayers Ahead of 2027 Elections

Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III urged Nigerians to intensify their prayers as the country approaches the 2027 general elections. He emphasized the importance of seeking divine guidance to identify credible leaders capable of addressing the nation's security and economic challenges.

This call was made during his Eid el-Kabir message on Thursday, where he highlighted the need for unity, patriotism, and the building of peace to ensure Nigeria's prosperity. The Sultan, who serves as the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria, stressed that the nation's progress does not solely depend on political campaigns but also on justice and selfless leadership.

He encouraged citizens to embrace values such as sacrifice, tolerance, and obedience. Additionally, he commended Ahm Aliyu for efforts aimed at improving security and welfare in Sokoto State, particularly regarding the provision of support for pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
