Sultan of Sokoto Urges Voters to Assess Campaign Promises

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, called on Nigerians to carefully assess the promises made by politicians before making their voting decisions. He urged politicians to prioritize issues that foster peace, unity, and development rather than politicizing national challenges like insecurity.

The Sultan made these remarks during a meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Campaign Council, led by Senator Abdul-Aziz Yari Abubakar, at his palace in Sokoto. Yari, representing Zamfara Central in the Senate, stated that the visit aimed to seek the Sultan's royal blessings and prayers as the campaign activities commence.

He pledged that the campaign would focus on peace and inclusivity, reflecting the Tinubu administration's commitment to development and security. The Sultan wished the APC campaign council success and prayed for peace and good governance in Nigeria.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto praised the Sultan for his leadership and influence in promoting national cohesion.
