Sultan of Sokoto Launches Youth Empowerment Initiative to Tackle Insecurity and Drug Abuse

The Sultan of Sokoto, represented by Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, launched a reality show called "Hustle Reality Show" in Sokoto to address common societal issues.

The initiative aims to empower youth with skills and mentorship to combat insecurity and drug abuse. Alhaji Idri Muhammad Gobir, representing the Commission on Budget and Economic Planning, highlighted the importance of youth empowerment projects in enhancing security, stimulating economic growth, and reducing unemployment.

However, concerns were raised about the limited number of beneficiaries in Sokoto State, despite its large population. Mr.

Ouattara Karno, the Country Director of the Lake Chad Basin Project, emphasized the need to support youth with seed grants and mentorship to transform innovative ideas into viable enterprises. The United Nations delegation in Nigeria commended the efforts and urged beneficiaries to maximize the positive impact on their communities.
