Igboho Urges Kanu to Seek Dialogue with Federal Government

Sunday Igboho, a prominent Yoruba nation activist, has called on Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to prioritize diplomatic engagement with the Federal Government to resolve ongoing legal and political challenges. This statement was released on Friday, following Kanu's official cancellation of the sit-at-home order that had disrupted economic and social activities across the South East for five years.

Igboho commended Kanu's decision, describing it as a critical step toward restoring stability in the region. He urged Kanu to adopt a new approach by exploring dialogue with the current administration under President Bola Tinubu, expressing optimism that negotiations could lead to peaceful resolutions.

Igboho also criticized individuals and groups benefiting from the unrest in the region and warned that continued violence would hinder economic recovery. The sit-at-home order was first declared in August 2021 after Kanu's arrest and has led to significant disruptions in the South East.
