Igboho Urges Kanu to Engage Federal Government in Dialogue

Yoruba nation activist Sunday Igboho has advised Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to engage in dialogue with the federal government to address ongoing legal and political challenges. This statement was issued on Friday through his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi.

Igboho commended Kanu for canceling the long-standing sit-at-home order across the South East, describing this decision as a positive step towards restoring peace and economic stability in the region. He noted that the sit-at-home order had significantly affected social and commercial activities for several years.

Igboho encouraged Kanu to adopt a new approach by formally discussing with the federal government to break the current deadlock surrounding his case. He expressed confidence that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu would open negotiations and sincerely engage all parties to lead to a peaceful resolution and improve security in the South East.

Igboho also warned individuals allegedly benefiting from violence in the region to desist from such activities, stressing the importance of peace for economic recovery and development.
