Ric Chelle Defends New Player Call-Ups for Super Eagles

Ric Chelle, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has explained his decision to include several new players in the squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Portugal. In a recent statement, Chelle highlighted that he has invited eight home-based players, including Femi Azeez, Owen Oseni, Arthur Okonkwo, and Rafiu Durosinmi, who will be making their competitive debuts.

Additionally, Abdullahi Bewen, a defender from Banik Ostrava, and Christian Akpan from Genk have also received late invitations. Chelle emphasized the need to improve the team's quality and stated that analyzing past performances is crucial for growth.
