Chelle Gives Lookman Freedom in Super Eagles Tactics

Tijani Babangida, a former Nigerian international, discussed the tactical approach of the Super Eagles under manager Eric Chelle in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco. Babangida noted that Chelle has allowed Ademola Lookman to have a free role on the pitch, which is a departure from the traditional number 11 position.

This change enables Lookman to roam and create opportunities against opponents. Babangida emphasized that Chelle's system is akin to Nigeria's traditional setup, where players like Lookman, now wearing the number 7 jersey, can effectively contribute to the attack and midfield.
