Eric Chelle to Scout New Talent for Super Eagles

Eric Chelle, the current coach of the Super Eagles, has expressed his intent to scout players of Nigerian descent across Europe as part of preparations for the 2026 United States Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in May, with the Super Eagles set to compete against Zimbabwe in their opening match on Tuesday, May 26, and potentially face either Jamaica or India in the finals.

Chelle anticipates the need to refresh the squad, which may involve reconsidering players who have not had significant playing time. He emphasized that the United States Cup will provide an opportunity to evaluate new talent while also monitoring players from the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Chelle has previously given debuts to players such as Benjamin Fredrick, Igoh Ogbu, and Felix Agu, among others, and plans to observe several domestic league matches until the season concludes.
