Super Eagles Set for 2027 AFCON Qualifiers Kickoff

The Super Eagles will commence their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign against Madagascar on Wednesday, September 23, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. Under the guidance of current coach Eric Chelle, the team aims to secure maximum points in their opening Group fixture.

Following this match, the Super Eagles will travel to Morocco to face Guinea-Bissau on Sunday, September 27. The group also includes Tanzania, making it a four-team competition.

Nigeria enters the qualifiers as one of the favorites, having previously won the AFCON three times. In the last edition of the tournament, hosted by Morocco, the Super Eagles finished in third place.

The team last played in June against Portugal in an international friendly, marking their preparation for the upcoming qualifiers.
