Maduka Okoye Spotted with Cardi B Amid AFCON Absence

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has attracted attention after being spotted with American rapper Cardi B in Milan while his teammates were in camp for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Madagascar. Okoye was among the 24 players invited by head coach Éric Chelle but was the only one yet to report to camp as of Wednesday.

The Super Eagles began training in Uyo ahead of their match against Madagascar. Okoye's absence is notable given his impressive performances in recent friendlies against Poland and Portugal.

By Tuesday evening, 23 players had participated in training, leaving Okoye as the only outstanding member of the squad. Footage of Okoye with Cardi B surfaced on social media, coinciding with his attendance at Milan Fashion Week.

While speculation about their relationship exists, neither has confirmed it. Chelle has other goalkeeping options, with Stanley Nwabali and Arthur Okonkwo already in camp for the upcoming match.
