Super Falcons Defeat Senegal 2-1 in Friendly Match

The Super Falcons of Nigeria achieved a 2-1 victory against Senegal in an international friendly match held at the Remo Star Sport Complex in Ikenne. The match took place as part of Nigeria's preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Veteran striker Asisat Oshoala and midfielder Toni Payn were instrumental in securing the win for Nigeria. Oshoala led the attack alongside teammates Francisca Ordega, Funmilayo Ijamilusi, captain Rasheedat Ajibade, and Christi Ucheibe.

The match marked the fourth encounter between the two teams in the last decade, with Nigeria previously winning 3-0 in a friendly in 2018. Nigeria dominated possession and created several opportunities before being awarded a penalty due to a handball by Senegal's defense.

Payn later scored a second goal, solidifying Nigeria's lead. Senegal managed to score a consolation goal three minutes before the end, denying Comfort Erhabor a clean sheet on her senior debut.

The two teams are set to meet again on Monday for a second friendly match.
