Super Falcons Beat Senegal 2-1 in WAFCON Warm-Up

The Super Falcons of Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory against Senegal in a warm-up match for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, held at Remo Star Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State. Veteran striker Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring with a penalty in the 32nd minute, marking her return to the national team after last appearing in the WAFCON 2024 final.

Nigeria maintained control of the match, with Toni Payn doubling the lead in the 43rd minute after a well-executed team move, marking her first appearance for the team. The Super Falcons dictated the tempo and restricted Senegal's attacking opportunities.

Senegal managed to reduce the deficit in the 86th minute, creating a tense finish, but Nigeria held on to secure the victory. This match was the first encounter between Nigeria's Super Falcons and Senegal's Teranga Lioness as part of their preparations for the upcoming WAFCON tournament in Morocco, where they will meet again for a second friendly match.
