Super Falcons to Compete in Ivory Coast Tournament Ahead of WAFCON 2026

The Super Falcons, nine-time African champions, are gearing up for the WAFCON 2026 by confirming their participation in a four-nation tournament organized by the West African Football Union (WAFU). The tournament, scheduled to take place in Abidjan from February 27 to March 7, 2026, will see Nigeria facing familiar opponents like Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Senegal.

The Super Falcons, under the guidance of head coach Justin Madugu, will use this tournament as a final test before the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Nigeria is placed in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and debutants Malawi for the WAFCON 2026.

The tournament will feature 16 teams across four venues in Morocco, with the top four semi-finalists earning automatic qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup.
