Nigeria's Super Falcons Prepare for WAFCON 2026 with WAFU Tournament Tests

Nigeria's Super Falcons are set to compete in the WAFU tournament in Abidjan as part of their preparations for the WAFCON 2026. The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is prioritizing a competitive environment for the reigning African champions by opting for the regional tournament over standard friendly matches.

The WAFU tournament, scheduled from February 27 to March 7, 2026, will serve as a final dress rehearsal before the WAFCON kicks off in Morocco. The Super Falcons will face regional rivals such as Ghana, Senegal, and hosts Côte d'Ivoire in a bid to sharpen their skills.

Head coach Justin Madugu is fine-tuning tactics and is expected to submit the final squad list to the NFF. The WAFU tournament, organized by the West African Football Union (WAFU), aims to foster football development within the West African sub-region.
