NSC's Bukola Olopade Promises Better Pay for Super Falcons

Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), announced on September 21 that the Federal Government plans to improve the pay for the Super Falcons as part of a broader initiative to enhance the welfare of women athletes in Nigeria. Olopade stated that specific plans for the pay increase are already in place and will be announced soon.

He also discussed the government's efforts to expand sports infrastructure by developing neighborhood facilities and supporting state governments in building and renovating sports venues. Additionally, Olopade highlighted the increasing role of women in sports administration, citing the Nigeria Netball Federation, which has a female president and nine out of thirteen board members who are women.

He reaffirmed the government's support for the D’Tigress basketball team, mentioning that President Bola Tinubu has fulfilled a promise of $100,000 to each player. Olopade expressed optimism about the future of Nigerian sports, focusing on athlete welfare, development, and community access to sports facilities.
