Court Nullifies AMCON-Backed Receivership Over Gener Hydrocarbon Limited

The Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Adetayo Aluko, voided the attempted receivership of Gener Hydrocarbon Limited (GHL) by AMCON. The court ruled that the appointment of a receiver by AMCON was improper and in violation of existing court orders.

The case involved a challenge to the jurisdiction of the court by GHL's chairman, Princ Nduka Obaigbena. Sevi Akinwunmi, representing AMCON, was found to have breached court orders by commencing the action.

The court highlighted the suppression of material facts in the case. This decision stemmed from a previous order by Justice Ambros Lewi Allagoa prohibiting AMCON from appointing a receiver for GHL.
