Supreme Court Ruling on ADC Leadership Not a Setback

The recent Supreme Court ruling concerning the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been interpreted by lawyer Nzeako as not a setback for the party. The Supreme Court referred the case back to the Federal High Court to determine the leadership issue, which involves David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.

Nzeako cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against refusing to recognize the leadership led by David Mark. He addressed concerns regarding INEC's deadline of May 10 for political parties to submit their membership registers, emphasizing that the registration is crucial for conducting direct primaries as per the provisions of the Electoral Act.

Nzeako highlighted that the Supreme Court's decision does not place the ADC in a difficult position but rather reinforces the need for compliance with electoral regulations.
