Supreme Court Verdict Resolves PDP Leadership Crisis

On Thursday, Nyesom Wike, a prominent figure in the People's Democratic Party (PDP), announced that the Supreme Court's recent judgment has effectively settled the ongoing leadership crisis within the party. The apex court delivered a split decision of 3-2, which nullified the PDP's national convention that took place in Ibadan on November 15-16, 2025.

The court ruled that the convention violated an existing court order that required the party to meet certain conditions before proceeding. Wike emphasized that the judgment has clarified the situation within the PDP and dismissed claims of division within the party.

He expressed confidence that the PDP remains united and capable of addressing the challenges ahead. Additionally, Wike commented on the internal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that it remains unresolved as the Supreme Court referred the ADC's issues back to the Federal High Court.
