Suspected Kidnap Gang Member Arrested on Jos-Makurdi Highway

On July 16, at approximately 5:00 PM, a suspect believed to be a member of a kidnap gang was arrested by troops deployed in Sector 6 during an operation aimed at enhancing security along the Jos-Makurdi highway. The arrest took place near Sob Bangai village in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect is part of an armed criminal syndicate accused of conducting violent attacks and kidnappings along the Jos-Makurdi road corridor. Security sources reported that the suspect is currently in military custody and is assisting in investigations to help dismantle the criminal network and apprehend other gang members.
