Suspected Kidnapper Arrested After Gun Duel in Edo Forest

The Edo State Police Command successfully apprehended a suspected kidnapper, Usman Abdulkarim, following a gun battle in the Ekpoma forest. The operation, conducted in the Edo Central Senatorial District, involved a coordinated bush combing exercise.

Abdulkarim, aged 27, was captured after resisting arrest and engaging in a gun duel with the police. Two other suspects managed to escape, leaving behind incriminating items such as mobile phones, ropes, and cash.

The police recovered these items and intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects. Additionally, the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Edo State Security Corps collaborated in a separate operation that led to the arrest of eight suspects involved in kidnapping and drug trafficking in Osara Community and other areas in Edo State.
