Edo State Police Arrest Kidnap Suspect in Forest Raid

The Edo State Police Command conducted a successful operation in Ekpoma, Edo State, resulting in the arrest of a kidnapping suspect, Usman Abdulkarim, following a gun duel in the forest. The operation, carried out in collaboration with local hunters and vigilante groups, aimed to dismantle the kidnapping network in the state.

Abdulkarim, aged 27, was apprehended in the forest, and items related to kidnapping were recovered. The operation also involved the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of lives and property in the state, particularly in response to recent protests and kidnappings in the Ekpoma area. Intensive follow-up operations are underway to apprehend other fleeing suspects and recover firearms.
