SweetThink Initiative Rewards Top Pupils in Lagos

SweetThink Initiative, a non-profit organization focused on identifying and nurturing academic excellence in underserved communities, held its maiden academic competition in Lagos State. The competition began in July of the previous year and featured 1,999 pupils from 1,000 schools.

Zainab Abubakar from Lagos State Model Nursery Primary School in Ikeja emerged as the overall winner with 39 points, receiving a cash prize of ₦300,000, a sponsorship package, a trophy, and a SweetThink hamper. Peter Jeged from Oluwol Nursery Primary School in Lagos Mainland finished as the first runner-up with 35 points, earning ₦200,000 and similar rewards.

Goodnews Oriamaja from First African Church Mission School placed second runner-up and received ₦100,000. The winners will enroll in a mentorship sponsorship program designed to support their academic development.

Olufunmilayo Olaniwun, chairperson of SweetThink Initiative, emphasized the need for continued investment in programs that recognize and reward academic achievements.
