AGF Fagbemi Advocates Tech Reforms for Justice Delivery

On Tuesday in Abuja, Lateef Fagbemi, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, expressed strong support for technology-driven reforms aimed at improving Nigeria's justice delivery system. He identified significant challenges plaguing the current system, including case backlogs and fragmented data across multiple agencies, which hinder effective policy-making and resource allocation.

Fagbemi highlighted that tailored technology could address these issues, enhancing the efficiency of the justice system. He spoke at the JusticeTechNG hackathon, organized in collaboration with JusticeTech Nigeria Ltd and Arravo Technology Ltd, which attracted various stakeholders and tech experts.

Fagbemi cautioned that while technology can be a powerful tool, it must be deployed carefully to respect due process and protect privacy. He reiterated the federal government's commitment to comprehensive reforms in the justice sector, empowering young Nigerians to uphold the rule of law.

The event also featured remarks from other judicial leaders, emphasizing the importance of integrating technology into the justice sector.
