Fagbemi Highlights Technology's Role in Justice Sector Success

On Tuesday, in Abuja, Lateef Fagbemi, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, attributed the successes in the justice sector to the proper adoption of technology. He made this disclosure during the JusticeTechNG Hackathon Acceler Demo Day, organized in collaboration with Fernandez Marcu Obien, Special Assistant to the President on Justice Sector Reform, ICT, and Digital Innovation, along with JusticeTech Nigeria Ltd and Arravo Technology Ltd.

Fagbemi explained that when technology is properly deployed, it serves as a powerful tool to address issues such as case backlog and delays, which often deny justice to citizens. He stressed the need for careful management of technology to respect due process and protect privacy.

Fagbemi also highlighted the implementation of an electronic content management system (ECM) within the ministry, which aims to improve document tracking and maintain institutional memory. He asserted that this system will not be a pilot project but will become a standard platform for case management moving forward.
