Tambuwal Endorses Malami Yabo, Shifts to Mentorship Role

Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State, has endorsed Faruk Malami Yabo as his political successor, announcing a gradual withdrawal from active local political engagement. This announcement was made during a strategic stakeholders meeting attended by party loyalists and youth representatives.

Tambuwal described Malami Yabo as a capable and visionary leader essential for sustaining progress in Sokoto State. He emphasized the importance of mentoring younger politicians and creating space for fresh ideas in Nigeria's political landscape.

Tambuwal dismissed claims of internal crises within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and stated that his decision to step back does not equate to retirement from public service but rather a shift towards mentorship. He also criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for worsening economic hardships since taking office in 2015.

Tambuwal's comments come as the political dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections begin to take shape, with multiple candidates expected to emerge.
