ADC Candidate Yabo Thanks Tambuwal for Stepping Down

Faruk Malami Yabo, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Sokoto South, publicly acknowledged the decision of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to step down in his favor, describing it as a rare act of statesmanship aimed at strengthening opposition politics and providing credible alternatives for voters. Yabo, a former Nigerian ambassador to Jordan and previous member of the Sokoto State Commission of Finance, expressed his gratitude for Tambuwal's sacrifice, which he believes has attracted national attention.

He noted Tambuwal's significant political stature and contributions to Sokoto State, tracing his political journey from being a House of Representatives member since 2003 to serving as Speaker and later as Governor. Yabo criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for undermining democratic institutions and worsening insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria, asserting that the ADC coalition is necessary to confront the APC's control over the political landscape.
