Taraba APC Primaries Declared a Sham by Jaji Campaign

The Mu’azu Jaji campaign organization, alongside concerned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, has demanded the cancellation of the governorship primaries held on Friday, describing the exercise as a sham. Dr.

Ishaq El Qasim, the group's director of communication and research, addressed journalists on Saturday, stating that the primaries were marred by gross non-compliance with the Electoral Act of 2026 and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). The group cited systematic exclusion of critics during the process, including issues with accreditation and result announcements, which they claim undermined the transparency and credibility expected in democratic primaries.

They urged the NWC of the APC to nullify the purported results and conduct fresh, fair, and credible primaries in strict compliance with electoral laws. The group expressed concerns that the current situation could damage the APC's image and public perception ahead of the 2027 general elections.
