Court Adjourns APC Chairmanship Case to July 2026

The Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State, has adjourned a suit concerning the chairmanship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to July 1, 2026. The suit, initiated by APC chairmanship aspirant Abdulhadi Lau, seeks to nullify the results of the party's primaries, claiming that the process unlawfully excluded him despite fulfilling the necessary requirements, including purchasing the party's nomination form.

Lau argues that the exclusion violated his constitutional rights and undermined the principles of internal democracy within the APC. Justice Mashkur Salisu granted the adjournment after the defense failed to file a statement of defense in response to the suit.

Lau has urged the court to intervene to ensure justice is served, warning that allowing the current actions to stand could set a dangerous precedent for Nigeria's democratic process.
