Taraba Children’s Parliament Advocates for Child Welfare Policies

At the 26th National Council on Women Affairs, Child Advancement and Social Development, Queen Gbashi, the Speaker of the Taraba Children’s Parliament, urged for stronger and sustained government policies to protect the rights and welfare of Nigerian children under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Gbashi, accompanied by Deputy Speaker Tyolanga Ephraim Aondosoo and House Leader Amila Dogo, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas, and Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim for their contributions to child welfare.

She stressed that children should be recognized as active stakeholders in national development and called for their involvement in policy-making. Gbashi commended the government's review of the Child Rights Act 2003 and highlighted the importance of the Costed National Action Plan on Ending Violence Against Children (2024–2030).

Aondosoo and Dogo reinforced the call for sustained policy attention and investment in children's futures, particularly for vulnerable communities.
