Taraba CSOs Issue 90-Day Ultimatum Over Collapsed Namnai Bridge Reconstruction

A coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Taraba State has given the state and federal governments a 90-day ultimatum to begin reconstructing the collapsed Namnai bridge in Gassol Local Government Area. The bridge, which collapsed in August 2024, has caused severe hardships for motorists, traders, and residents in the affected community.

The CSOs highlighted the bridge's importance as a vital transport corridor linking different regions of the country. Bello Adamu Bako, speaking on behalf of the coalition, expressed concerns over the government's delay in fixing the bridge despite sixteen months passing since its collapse.

The CSOs demand urgent government intervention to alleviate the suffering of road users and ensure the reconstruction of the bridge.
