Police Rescue Three Girls from Suspected Traffickers

On Thursday morning, two suspected female traffickers were arrested by the Taraba State Police Command while traveling in a commercial vehicle with three girls aged between five and six. The suspects, who are from a South-East state, had deceived the girls' mothers into allowing them to accompany the women to the market.

Instead, they intended to take the girls to Adamawa State. The driver of the vehicle became suspicious when he noticed that the girls did not resemble the women and alerted members of his union, who contacted the police.

Upon investigation, the women admitted to taking the girls after renting a room near their home two weeks prior. The girls, identified as Ummul Shuaibu, Ummul Baba Gasal, and Amina Abubakar, were later reunited with their fathers at the police headquarters, where they were asked to bring their wives for further identification.

ASP Victor Mshelizah confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing.
