TCN Updates on Abuja Blackout Affecting Key Areas

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) issued a statement on Saturday regarding a blackout that impacted the Presidential Villa, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, and other parts of Abuja. Ndidi Mbah, TCN's spokesperson, explained that the outage was due to faults in the red and yellow phases of a 33kV power transformer at the Apo substation.

TCN is currently working to resuscitate the red phase while repairs on the yellow phase are ongoing. TCN has urged the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to supply customers connected to the affected 33kV feeder.

The company expressed its commitment to restoring power and apologized for the inconvenience caused to AEDC's customers affected by the feeder issues. TCN is actively monitoring the situation and has been providing daily updates on the status of power supply in the capital.
