TCN Schedules Seven-Hour Power Outage in Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled a seven-hour power outage in Abuja on Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This outage is necessary for maintenance work on the Katampe 132/33 kilovolt (kV) transmission substation.

Mr. Ndidi Mbah, TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, stated that the maintenance will allow TCN's crew to perform essential preventive work on the 100 megavolt amperes (MVA) 132/33 kV power transformer TR1 and its associated auxiliary equipment and switchgear.

As a result of this maintenance, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to supply bulk power to customers in affected areas, which include Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp, Kado, Fish Market, Idu, and Karmo. Mr.

Mbah expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by this planned outage, emphasizing that the maintenance is crucial for ensuring optimal performance of the equipment.
