Team Bayelsa dominate Youth Games’ zonal qualifiers

Team Bayelsa emerged as dominant performers at the zonal qualifiers for the Youth Games, with Acting Director of Sports Andrew Aye in attendance. The team participated in 10 different sports and outclassed Rivers in female basketball, securing first place.

Despite losing their third game, the Bayelsa boys' team managed to secure a spot in the football category. The Abula male and female teams from Bayelsa also qualified for the Youth Games.

In softball, Bayelsa defeated Rivers to maintain their top spot. The male volleyball team also secured qualification by defeating Rivers and Akwa Ibom.

Aye praised Bayelsa's performance, highlighting their consistent competitiveness. Meanwhile, defending champions Delta are in the final stages of preparation, with 600 athletes in camp.
