Team Nigeria Athletes Praise NSC for 2026 Games Support

Team Nigeria's athletes expressed their appreciation for the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) during a training camp in Aberdeen, as they prepare for the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 2, 2026. Captain Folashad Oluwafemiayo, a Paralympic champion, commended the NSC for creating a conducive environment that allows athletes to focus on their training.

He noted that the NSC's athlete-centered approach, which includes quality training facilities, improved welfare packages, accommodation, medical support, and logistics, has significantly boosted the athletes' confidence and morale. Oluwafemiayo emphasized that every athlete feels valued, and the NSC has demonstrated a genuine commitment to ensuring that Team Nigeria is adequately prepared to compete at the highest level.

The athletes expressed optimism and unity, aiming to bring home medals and eliminate challenges that previously affected Nigeria's participation in major international competitions.
