Niger Delta Games Draw Set for Today in Benin

The draw for the 2nd Niger Delta Games is scheduled to take place today at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium's media center in Benin, Edo State. Fred Edoreh, the project director, confirmed that all arrangements are in place for the event.

The games will feature 16 sports and involve nine participating states, with the draw ceremony being crucial for determining fixtures. Enefiok Udo Obong, the state chairman of the technical committee, emphasized that the draw will follow a no-seed procedure to ensure fairness among the states.

The technical meeting is set for late Wednesday, and the opening ceremony is planned for February 20, with the games running until February 27. The first edition of the Niger Delta Games was held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2025, and Bayelsa State emerged as the champion.
