2nd Niger Delta Games Concludes with Cultural Celebration

The 2nd Niger Delta Games concluded in Benin City, Edo State, on February 20, featuring 3,000 young athletes competing in 16 sports, including basketball, football, and swimming. The event served as a platform for discovering and nurturing grassroots talent capable of achieving international prominence.

It was organized by Dunamis Icon Limited and received commendations for its improved organization and athlete welfare. The games included a vibrant cultural expo, headlined by comedian Okei Bakassi and featuring performances from artists like Harrysong and Daniel Edoreh.

Sir Itiako Ikpokpo, CEO of Dunamis Icon Limited, emphasized the importance of balancing athletic development with cultural experiences. The event aimed to reinforce unity and discipline among athletes from the oil-rich Niger Delta region, showcasing their skills and heritage.

The success of the games is expected to lay a solid foundation for future events, including the upcoming games in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, in 2025 and Edo in 2026.
