Edo State Dominates 2026 Niger Delta Games Medal Tally

The 2026 Niger Delta Games concluded with Edo State claiming the top position in the overall medal tally, amassing a total of 102 medals, which comprised 50 gold, 30 silver, and 22 bronze. Delta State secured the second position with 91 medals, including 34 gold, 26 silver, and 31 bronze.

Bayelsa finished third with 66 medals, consisting of 23 gold, 20 silver, and 23 bronze. Akwa Ibom and Abia followed in fourth and fifth places, respectively, with 47 and 41 medals.

The games, which began on February 19, culminated in a closing ceremony held at the Bill Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City at 5 PM. Although the final medal tally was expected to be updated after a few remaining events, it was noted that the last events, including scrabble and a football relay race, were unlikely to significantly alter the standings.
