Kano Crash: Tears as 12 People Die in Road Accident

Twelve people lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Samawa village, Garin Mallam local government area along the Kano Expressway. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano confirmed the incident, which involved a DAF Trailer CF95 model carrying goods and passengers.

Five individuals were also injured in the crash. This fatal accident comes just a month after another similar incident in July, where 21 people died in a collision between a truck and a commercial passenger bus.

Road accidents are a significant problem in Nigeria, causing numerous deaths, injuries, and financial losses. Despite a 10% reduction in the total number of road crashes nationwide in 2024, there was a 7% increase in fatalities compared to the previous year.

This recent tragedy adds to the growing toll of lives lost on Nigerian roads.
