AGF Fagbemi Advocates Technology in Justice Sector Reform

At an event in Abuja, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Fagbemi highlighted the critical role of technology in the administration of justice. He announced the commitment to implement an electronic content management (ECM) system, which aims to fundamentally improve document tracking and maintain institutional memory, ensuring knowledge is not lost during personnel changes.

This initiative reflects the government's recognition of the need to build institutional capacity through both human resources and technological infrastructure. The event, tagged JusticeTechNG Hackathon, was organized in collaboration with Mr.

Fernandez Marcu Obien and involved various stakeholders, including Senator Shaibu Salisu and Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem. The AGF noted that the ECM system would enhance prosecutorial advisory functions and strengthen accountability within the justice sector.

He emphasized that the adoption of technology should address real challenges faced by the justice system, aiming to deepen the rule of law in Nigeria.
