Tragic Drownings of Teenager and Eight-Year-Old in Separate Incidents in Kano State

In Kano State, tragic incidents occurred where an 18-year-old named Yusif Malam Gwani drowned in open water in Bachirawa, Kwanar Madugu, Ungogo Local Government Area. The Kano State Fire Service Director, Alhaji Sani Ana, confirmed the incident.

In a separate incident, an eight-year-old boy, Abdussalam Ibrahim, reportedly fell into open water in Kofar Yamma, Karaye Local Government Area. The Fire Service received distress calls in both cases and deployed rescue teams promptly.

Unfortunately, both victims were retrieved dead from the water. The Fire Service emphasized the importance of safety precautions around open water sources, especially to protect children.

The families of the deceased were offered condolences.
