Minister Tegbe Commissions 505kWp Solar Mini-Grid in Epe

On [date not specified], Joseph Tegbe, the Minister of Power, officially commissioned a 505kWp interconnected solar mini-grid project in Eredo community, Epe, Lagos State. During his keynote address, Tegbe commended the leadership of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) for its transformative efforts in delivering electricity solutions across Nigeria.

He noted that the agency has developed approximately 1,000 mini-grids nationwide, supported by the World Bank, and has facilitated the installation of nearly 3.9 million solar home systems. Dr.

Abba Aliyu, the REA Managing Director and CEO, emphasized that electrification is crucial for commercial competitiveness and job creation. The project, developed by A4 T Solutions, is expected to reduce local transport operational expenses by 40% through the introduction of electric tricycles.

Additionally, the project aims to deploy an additional 5MW of renewable energy capacity in the surrounding economic cluster, which includes agriculture and cold chain infrastructure.
