Nigeria Telecom Subscribers Reach 185.7 Million in March 2026

As of March 2026, the total number of telecom subscribers in Nigeria has reached 185,718,018, an increase from 184,603,928 in February 2026, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). This represents a teledensity of 85.67%.

The number of internet subscribers, including mobile data users, has also risen to 153,820,556 in March 2026 from 153,134,987 in February 2026. MTN maintains its lead in the telecom market with 95,759,210 subscribers, accounting for 51.62% of the market share, followed by Airtel with 63,629,101 subscribers (34.30% market share), Globacom with 22,639,893 subscribers (12.20% market share), and T2 with 3,478,544 subscribers (1.88% market share).

The data indicates a steady growth trajectory in the telecom sector over the past nine months, with subscriber numbers increasing from 169.3 million in July 2025 to 185.7 million in March 2026.
