Ann Li Dominates Camila Osorio in Monterrey Opener

Fifth-seeded Ann Li achieved a decisive victory over Colombia’s Camila Osorio, winning 6-1, 6-2 in only 65 minutes during the first round of the Abierto GNP Seguros event held in Monterrey, Mexico, on Monday. Li effectively utilized Osorio's nine double faults, converting six out of her twelve break-point opportunities.

Osorio, who was a finalist in Monterrey in 2022, struggled significantly, winning only four of her 22 second-serve points. Other matches included seventh-seeded Janice Tjen of Indonesia, who overcame Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5), despite Yastremska leading 4-1 in the final set.

Alycia Parks also triumphed over Croatia’s Petra Marcinko with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, while Denmark’s Clara Tauson defeated Mexico’s Renata Zarazua 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. In the last match of the night, France’s Diane Parry came from behind to beat sixth-seeded Donna Vekic of Croatia 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-1.
