Cameron Norrie Ends Losing Streak at Mifel Open

British number two Cameron Norrie secured his first victory since April, defeating Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-4, 6-1 in the first round of the Mifel Open held in Los Cabos, Mexico. This win ended a six-match losing streak for Norrie, who had not triumphed since the Madrid Open and faced a first-round exit at Wimbledon against qualifier Michael Zheng.

In the match against Kovacevic, Norrie initially struggled, having his serve broken twice in the first set, including in the opening game. However, he rebounded strongly, dropping only five points on serve in the second set and breaking Kovacevic twice.

Norrie, the fifth seed, is set to compete against either Australian James Duckworth or American Aidan Mayo in the last 16. Meanwhile, British number two Katie Boulter was eliminated in the first round of the Citi Open, extending her losing streak to four matches after a defeat to American Ashlyn Krueger.
